She has two children who have attended White Plains Schools. Very active in the community, Ms. Eller has been President of the Education Club of Mt. Hope A.M.E. Zion Church and a Sunday School teacher there; a past member of the Board of Directors of Happy Harbor Child Care Center, and a recipient of a Certificate of Recognition for development of youth from the White Plains Youth Bureau. A graduate of Adelphi University, Ms. Eller is an Associate Director at Pfizer Inc. Currently Mrs. Eller serves on the Board's Finance/Audit, Policy and Special Education Committees. She also represents the Board on the White Plains Youth Bureau and on PTA Council.
CHARLIE NORRIS Charlie Norris, Board Vice President, was elected to the Board of Education in 2007 and has been a resident of White Plains since 1987. His two children graduated from White Plains High School.
Mr. Norris is a graduate of SUNY/Stonybrook and has a J.D. degree from New York Law School. He practices law in White Plains at Fiden & Norris, LLP.
Active in the schools before his Board election, Mr. Norris has been a member of the Annual Budget Committee, the District's Strategic Planning Core Team, and was PTA president at White Plains High School – the first male to serve in that role. He has served on the Board of the White Plains Youth Soccer League.
Mr. Norris serves on the Board's Human Resources and Special Education Committees and also as liaison to the White Plains Recreation Advisory Committee.
PETER BASSANO Peter Bassano has been a member of the Board of Education since 2002 and a resident of White Plains since 1988. He has a B.S. degree from Columbia University and a J.D. from Pace University. His two children were educated in the White Plains Schools. A partner in the firm of Bleakley Platt & Schmidt in White Plains, Mr. Bassano is a member of the firm's executive committee and head of its Commercial Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups. He is also a member of the Pace Law School Board of Visitors. Mr. Bassano was a member of the district's Annual Budget Committee and also of the Board of Directors of the White Plains Little League. In Board activity, Mr. Bassano serves on the Human Resources Committee.
SHERYL BRADY Sheryl Brady has been a White Plains resident for 24 years and was elected to the Board in 2007. Her four children have been in the White Plains Schools since kindergarten. Mrs. Brady holds a Bachelor's degree from Purchase College and a Master's and PhD in Math from Cornell University. She was formerly an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Mathematics Department at Purchase College. Within the community, she has been active in the PTA, on the District's Stategic Planning Core Team and Annual Budget Committee, and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Kol Ami. Within the Board, Mrs. Brady serves on the Curriculum, Human Resources and Policy Committees. She is also Board liaison to the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association and to PTA Council.
JAMES HRICAY A resident of White Plains since 1999, James Hricay was first elected to the Board in 2009. He has three children, two of whom are school-age and are enrolled in the White Plains Schools. He had previously served on the district's Annual Budget Committee. Mr. Hricay holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from George Mason University and an MPA in Public Policy from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at NYU and an MBA in Financial Management from Iona College. He serves as Assistant Director of the Office of Policy and Management for the City of Stamford, CT. As a Board Member, Mr. Hricay serves on the Finance and Safety Committees.
RANDY STEIN
Dr. Randy Stein was elected to the Board of Education in 2008 and has lived in White Plains since 1985. Her three children are graduates of White Plains High School. Dr. Stein graduated from SUNY/Albany and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. An endocrinologist, she has practiced medicine in White Plains for 26 years and is on the staff of White Plains Hospital Center. She is a partner in the WestMed medical group and is also on the Board of Trustees of Congregation Kol Ami. Dr. Stein serves on the Board's Finance/Audit, Safety and Special Education Committees.
ROSE LOVITCHRose Lovitch has been a resident of White Plains since 1990 and was elected to the Board in 2012. Two of her three children are students at White Plains High School and the third is a WPHS graduate. Among her many volunteer positions before joining the Board, Mrs. Lovitch was President of the PTAs at Post Road School and the High School before becoming Co-President of PTA Council. She has also been a Girl Scout leader in the community for 10 years. Mrs. Lovitch has a B.A. degree from Fordham University and a J.D. Degree from Pace University School of Law. She is a practicing attorney. As a Board Member, Mrs. Lovitch serves on the Curriculum and Policy Committees. |
