Welcome to the Fine Arts homepage for the White Plains City School District.  Here you will find information about the Music and Art departments for the White Plains Public Schools.  We believe Fine Arts Education is essential to the development of all students and we offer instruction in Music and Art for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.  We also have many opportunities for students at various levels to participate in dance and theater related activities.  Use the links to the left to navigate through the Fine Arts website, and thank you for visiting our homepage!  

 

 

Spring Concerts 

 

Spring is finally here, and for the music department that means concert season!  Students have been working diligently for months to prepare and now they will have a chance to showcase what they have learned!  There are 15 concerts in May and early June in schools throughout the district.  Please click on the Fine Arts Calendar tab in the menu on the left to see the calendar of all our concerts.  We look forward to seeing you in the audience!

 

 

 

Congratulations to Mr. Eckfeld and students in the WPHS Honors String Ensemble for receiving a Gold with Distinction at the NYSSMA Majors ensemble on May 17, 2013.  Not only did they receive the highest possible rating, but they performed at level VI, which is the most difficult repertoire they could have performed.  Well Done!!!
